Multiple sessions will enable us to document the remarkable changes as your baby transitions from a tiny newborn to an active toddler. I just love watching these little ones grow, as it reminds me of my own children being so small. What a bittersweet reminder of how quickly they become big kids! SLEEPY SNUGGLES
We start your milestone sessions with some sleepy, snuggly newborn images. Because we keep these sessions simple, we keep it to only props that showcase just how tiny your little one is. Kristen, our studio owner and head photographer chooses every wrap and baby outfit in the studio to compliment your new baby’s delicate features. As such, we can capture each roll, wrinkle, and wispy hair on your little one!
Newborn Milestone Sessions typically occur during the first two weeks of life. Those early weeks are when they are the most content to sleep. And sleepy babies allow for movement of their limbs that will enable all those snuggly photos you see. With over 12 years of experience handling newborns, La Vie Photography makes sure to stay up to date on all safety precautions and best practices for posing newborns. Your session is never rushed, and the comfort and well-being of your baby are always our top priority!
SWEET SILLY SMILES
The next milestone we capture happens around six months of age. These sessions are often a parent’s favorite to capture, as you can see your baby’s personality coming out at this age.
Customizing your 6-month milestone session is super fun! Often we will incorporate precious gifts (like that quilt your grandma made for him) or a favorite lovey or toy into your images. These photos of Paxton are some of my all-time favorites as he was extra smiley during our time together. We kept the styling simple to ensure all of his delicious baby rolls and sweet smiles could steal the show!
TUMMY TIME or SITTING TALL
If your little one isn’t quite sitting assisted in time for your 6-month milestone session, never you fear! Your milestone session can easily be accomplished using tummy time or lying flat on the back. And, if you really want seated photos, you can use one of my props that assists early sitters while helping them stay comfortable.
CUSTOMIZE YOUR SESSION
Every session we offer in our studio is customizable to your tastes and interests. We have an extensive collection of gowns and fabric for moms and a gorgeous selection of wraps and soft blankets for babies. And our studio is filled with carefully selected props, made with your baby’s safety in mind (no sharp edges or corners that could hurt your little one!)
Every mother deserves to feel beautiful, which is why we have crafted an experience with a mother’s comfort in mind. Mamas, you take care of EVERYTHING! So sometimes, it’s nice to have someone take care of everything for you! Because our milestone sessions have everything you’ll need here in the studio, you won’t need to bring anything! Just bring you and your baby! Our Downtown Houston Photography Studio even has hair and makeup stylists on-site for mamas. Not only will you feel beautiful and confident, but it’s also our hope that your time in the studio is a rare moment of relaxation and pampering for any busy mama!
When you choose one of our milestone session packages, we will create a cohesive collection of artwork to showcase your baby’s first year. Because we spend so much time with you and your family over the course of a year, we have a pretty good idea of your personal style. And that means even your artwork is customized to your aesthetic!
We work with an incredible team of artisans, including a professional framer with Friendswood Frame and Gallery. Our framing team will create unique works of art to showcase your images.
