Houston Child Photographer – Shelby

Meet Shelby! She’s three years old, loves twirling and possesses the perfect combination of stubborn sweetness and sassy humor. Strong-willed children have a special place in my heart. My goal, as a mother of two little sassy-pants of my own, is to raise them to stubbornly stick to the values instilled in their tiny hearts by their father and me. It is for this reason that I adored working with this gorgeous little thing. I still giggle when I think back on this session. I sat her down and asked her playfully, “are you ready to take some pretty pictures?” Her reply you may ask? A firm “no.” Can you say three going on sixteen?!

Shelby was a super great sport throughout the entire session. She was very well behaved and continued playing along as I moved her around and kept adjusting her adorable flower crown. When it comes to child portrait sessions, my goal is to capture not only the beauty in a fine art portrait but to truly capture the essence of the child’s personality. I loved how these pictures came out. We started with a few close up shots of Shelby. You can see her strong spirit  in the slight smirks and serious stares, but we also get to witness her bright, bubbly side while watching her twirl between attacks of giggles and grins.

Shelby’s mom is takes great care in documenting all of her children’s journey through childhood. She documents each of her children throughout their first year and then at each birthday after. Opportunities such as these make me so appreciative of the gift each of my clients give me by allowing me to capture such fun times in their little one’s lives. Thank you so much for this honor. I promise I will treat your session with the respect and professionalism it deserves.

Houston Maternity Photographer – Nida & Andrew

Nida and Andrew are first-time parents, and as you can see, are an absolutely gorgeous couple. The love they share for each other is so obvious, I can’t help but get excited for the amount of love they will, and already do have for their precious baby boy. They’ve decided to keep his name a secret until his birth, which is such a fun idea! It adds so much anticipation for the big day.

It’s rare to have a husband be so involved in a maternity session, but boy was it fun! Andrew really stepped up throughout the entire process, holding fabrics, positioning fans, and helping out at every turn. They really were a ton of fun to work with!! Nida showed up with lots of outfits options and accessories to add to the gowns that I had gathered for their photo shoot. Oh my goodness, she looked gorgeous!

One of my favorite outfits for Nida was the royal blue, off the shoulder gown that opened up to show her adorable baby bump. She paired it with a gold statement necklace and get this… heels! I can barely walk in heels as it is let alone being eight months pregnant! I think we’ve met wonder woman, people! My other favorite pairing was the lace overlay she wore while laying in a bed of rose petals. It was a simply gorgeous portrayal of the beauty that is pregnancy.

To the Wood family, thank you for allowing me to be a part of such a beautiful time in your lives. I can’t wait to meet your handsome little man!

Houston Newborn Photographer – Baby Eliana

A little sister and her big brother . . . What is it that gives him a sense of care for or urge to look after her? Questions like these are almost unanswerable, yet have me in awe every time I witness a sweet, subtle moment such as this one. Just looking at the curiosity and wonder in this big brother’s eyes as he peers over his little sister, or the imaginable warmth of his arms around her tiny body, reminds me of these endearing subtleties in life, particularly in sibling-hood. It is these very reminders that keep me so engaged as I have an opportunity to capture such beautiful memories as a Houston Baby Photographer.

Not only did I have the privilege of photographing this big brother’s first year of his life, and the mother of these two angels during her maternity session, but I am now honored with the opportunity to capture this precious little sis in just the first few days of hers. Baby Eliana . . . so sweet and vibrant against the light shades of pink, teal, and white, with the black and white portraits leaving your imagination to wonder how anything could be more perfect. In her brother’s eyes, she is small and seemingly fragile, leaving him with only one option: to be a big brother. I am so grateful that this family has allowed me to be a part of their journey.

As a Houston baby photographer I get to meet some of the cutest babies and have a ton of fun! Miss Eliza is part of my Baby Steps plan where I photograph them at all of the important milestone stages throughout their first year. It’s truly my favorite service to offer because just like that they go from a teeny tiny newborn to a babbling toddling one year old. And, I get to capture it all in beautiful art pieces that their families will treasure for many generations to come.

Eliza’s mommy likes her portraits to be a part of her home décor which I think is quite smart. I always ask during a consultation about a clients style so that the images I create for them “work” in their spaces. She likes shades of cream, white, red, brown, and sage green. We’ve used all of these colors in various ways throughout her sessions so that at the end of the year we have a cohesive body of work to create an album with.

At 8 months old Eliza’s favorite things are crawling (she’s fast 🙂 ), blowing raspberries, wrinkling her nose, and sticking out her tongue! We had such a fun time and laughed a lot during her session. I hope y’all love it as much as her family and I do!!

Baby Aiden arrived right on schedule and I got to meet him just 6 days after he was born. This little boy couldn’t have been any cuter with a full head of hair and perfectly squishy cheeks! When his mama and I discussed the style for his session she wanted to keep it fairly neutral with pops of blue and yellow. This is a really beautiful color palette for a baby boy. She also wanted him to have a prince crown and loved one of my most popular poses, baby in a tree top.  This is a highly requested shot and one I love to do. Don’t worry…this is a composite image and baby is safe at all times 😉

Aiden’s big sister Ari absolutely adores him <3 She kept walking up to me to tell me, “look…baby so cute”.  Doesn’t that just melt your heart! I have a feeling Aiden will grow up to be just as happy and sweet as she is. Just look at all of those smiles!!

This final set is one of my favorites.  I can’t get enough of images that are so simple and clean where it’s ALL about the baby. Look at how relaxed and peaceful this little guy is…

As parents we think we’ll remember everything about our precious babies. It’s such a magical time, how could we not right? The truth is though that we won’t.  Time fades all memories, even those most precious to us. It’s so important to document all of the little details so that when we start to forget how their skin felt against ours or how they smelled, we can look back on that time and remember.  How will you remember your baby??
